“They” are giving me a day off tomorrow.
To do DRAs.
A whole day – just for DRAs.
“They” are even making sure we have help. Our math counterparts, our EIP (Early Intervention Program) and ESOL teachers are helping us too. We’re calling it The DRA Blitz.
The thought of hearing “Busy Helpers” and “Mystery at The Mays’ House” a bajillion times makes me want to poke my eye out with a dirty stick.
And then there’s the thought of someone else doing your DRAs.
Someone that doesn’t know your kids.
Someone whose judgment might not be the same as yours.
This is a gift. And I will not complain.
Especially since I even get an hour for lunch.
We are ordering out.
So today, after school, instead of prepping for Day 10,000 of Remediation for THE RETEST, I wrote sub plans.
Note to self: Write blog post about the nightmare that is Remediation with a Capital R.
I am a little nervous, peeps.
This is either going to be genius or it will backfire in my face.
First, we are going to start with some cutesy. Amy Lemons style.

If you don’t have this, go get it now. It is super cute and super easy. I ran off her templates on cardstock and left step-by-step instructions. It will either be a mess or really cute.
Then I threw together a Think-Tac-Toe board. I wish I used these more often. The kids love them. You know that whole “choice” thing.
What do you think? Should I make more of these? I’m thinking of doing a set for each quarter of the school year according to the Common Core course maps we’re going to follow.
Wish me luck tomorrow! I have 40 kids to do. Not by myself, but it’s not going to be easy either.
